10 pairs of contestants are invited to the Fortune Hotel – an invitingly luxurious setting where they will spend the next week.
In each of the hotel rooms is an identical briefcase. Eight cases contain stacks of worthless scrap paper. One contains an ‘early check out’ and one contains a HUGE cash sum.
Tension builds as each pair must select a key at random. The couples then head to their rooms and, in a dramatic moment, open their cases. The pair that finds the money instantly become ‘The Millionaires’. The money is theirs if and only if they can keep hold of that case for the next 8 days.
Another pair will find the ‘Early Check Out’. If they can’t get rid of their case before the end of the day they will be leaving the hotel with nothing.
Each day, the guests will participate in two very different challenges. The winners of these games get the opportunity to keep or swap their case.
The pairs will stop at nothing to learn who has the cash and then attempt to take it from them. Likewise, the couple with the ‘Early Check Out’ will want to off-load it – if a pair finishes the day with that dreaded case they are instantly eliminated and must leave the hotel.
After 8 episodes, one pair will have the case with the cash and will leave The Fortune Hotel with a fortune.
