Set against the atmospheric backdrop of Amsterdam, Baantjer is a warm, character-driven cosy crime series following seasoned detective De Cock and his trusted partners, Vledder and Prins.
In each episode, the close-knit team is confronted with a new murder mystery, leading them into different corners of the city and the lives of its inhabitants. While every case brings its own suspects, secrets and emotional stakes, the real heart of the series lies in the almost familial bond between the detectives.
No matter how dark or complicated the investigation becomes, each episode ultimately brings them back together, often around the table at De Cock’s home, reinforcing the warmth, humour and human connection at the core of the show.
