History in the firing line
DR1 (Denmark) - 6 x 28'
Big Shots is an explosive factual-entertainment format where firepower meets history, humour, and fierce competition.
In every episode, two iconic weapons from the same historical conflict go head-to-head. A weapons specialist and a historian step into the firing line, using live ammunition to reveal how each weapon worked, what it felt like to use, and how it influenced history.
Through spectacular hands-on tests, playful chemistry, and vivid storytelling, the hosts transform military history into an immersive adventure. Each episode culminates in a dramatic showdown: both hosts back a weapon, but only one can triumph. The loser faces a hilariously authentic punishment inspired by the period.
Combining bullet-proof historical insight, high-energy challenges, and satisfying payoffs, Big Shots makes the past immediate, accessible, and entertaining for a broad audience of all ages.
