Keep on trucking with the heroes of North America’s busiest highway
Season 14: 12 x 60'
Seasons 1-13: 195 x 60'
Highway Thru Hell captures the relentless struggle of recovery operators, highway crews, and first responders as they face some of the harshest conditions ever seen on television. Set in British Columbia’s Cascade Mountains, the series explores the infamous Coquihalla Highway, where blizzards at the summit can give way to torrential rain far below in the Fraser Valley. Alongside the Trans-Canada Highway, the busiest transport route linking the West Coast to the rest of Canada, this region has earned its reputation as a “Bermuda Triangle” for lorries. While others turn back, heavy rescue teams charge directly into the storm.
Beyond the highways, treacherous mountain tracks and forest roads test the crews’ skill and endurance. They undertake near-impossible recoveries on cliffs, ravines, and waterways, battling failing equipment and fraying morale. Highway Thru Hell is a tribute to resilience, spotlighting the toughest operators whose work keeps vital routes open, safeguarding lives, livelihoods, and the national economy.
