Two survivors. Two conflicting stories. One deadly truth hidden in the wilderness
4 x 60'
Set against the vast and unforgiving wilderness of Sweden’s Sarek National Park, this four-part psychological thriller follows a hiking trip among friends that spirals into terror.
When a badly wounded woman is airlifted to safety, she tells police that the group fell under the control of a charismatic outsider, whose manipulation and psychological cruelty led to violence and death. Her account appears to offer a horrifying explanation for what happened in the mountains.
But the case is thrown into doubt when one of the presumed victims is discovered alive. Her version of events is entirely different, raising unsettling questions about who can be trusted and what really took place in the wilderness.
As two survivors present two conflicting stories, the truth becomes increasingly difficult to untangle. Tense, atmospheric and full of unpredictable twists, Sarek is a gripping exploration of friendship, survival, deception and the dangerous stories people tell to protect themselves.
